HSJ Value Awards 2021
We are delighted to be part of a team that has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Value Awards 2021. Our Covid-19 ‘hospital at home’ helped change the way that patients are cared for.
Our North-West London Covid-19 primary care project was selected for the ‘diligence, ambition and positive impact’ that the project has had during an unprecedented challenge for the NHS.
This outstanding work was possible due to the collaboration of:
- North West London Collaboration of Clinical Commissioning Groups
- The Confederation Hillingdon CIC
- Central London Healthcare CIC (CLH)
- Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust,
- AstraZeneca Digital Health Team
- Us at Huma
HSJ editor Alastair McLellan comments:
“We would like to congratulate Huma on being shortlisted in the Primary Care or Community Service Redesign Initiative category for the HSJ Value Awards 2021. This year’s finalists have not only contributed to the continued fight against the Covid-19 pandemic within the NHS but have also been exceptionally dedicated to enhancing healthcare across the UK. We are honoured to be recognising and celebrating their outstanding work after what is, no doubt, the most challenging year in the history of the NHS. We are looking forward to welcoming them to the ceremony in June."
More about Digital Virtual Wards:
The development of the digital virtual ward has seen patients being cared for at home, at scale. Smartphones and connected sensors, such as oximeters, monitor patients and transmit data on their condition to their care providers, identifying and flagging changes in an individual’s wellbeing in the process.
Digital virtual wards enable carers to run their ward rounds at a glance of a screen and make contact with their patients proactively, minimising the need for unnecessary admissions. Evidence shows they can almost double clinical capacity and reduce the administrative burden of care while providing the right data at the right time to support clinical decision making.
