At Huma we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Measures to support accessibility
To ensure accessibility of our core products, Huma takes the following measures:
- Integrate accessibility into our procurement practises.
- Work alongside relevant experts to ensure our approach to accessibility standards are clear and concise.
- Include a robust accessibility checklist as part of our procurement process.
- Communicate the importance of accessibility and inclusive design principles to our wider team and stakeholders.
All features within our mobile and web apps for patients and care teams, have written information, user guides and tutorials to explain how they work. We do extensive research and testing activities to ensure that the way we deliver our content is intuitive, accessible and usable. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and Apple’s Human Interface Accessibility Guidelines to ensure we have an extensive list of requirements that allows us to design and build products for the global population. Having a checklist that combines both resources, allows us to have a broad understanding of compliance standards. As of early 2022, our mobile and web products are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Although some parts of our content do not fully conform to the AA or AAA compliance (see list below), this hasn’t blocked any of our targeted cohort and active users from fully using all our products. As our user base increases and more cohorts are being onboarded in the product, we aim to have a Level AAA compliance.

Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Huma’s core products, there may be some limitations. We are constantly improving our procedures to ensure we meet our required standards. Please contact us if you observe an issue that you feel might have not been addressed.
